Pi-Ryl (Eronryl)

Modified PPE resins are polymer alloys that combine PPE resins with other types of resins. PPE resins are amorphous thermoplastic resins known for their excellent heat resistance, flame retardance, electrical properties, dimensional stability, low water absorption, and low specific gravity. These resins exhibit a broad range of properties for application in water management, automotive, electrical, solar, energy storage, b&c, appliances and more.

Product Characterstics

  • Pi-ryl/Eronryl resins offer exceptional heat resistance, flame retardance, dimensional stability, and mechanical properties. They exhibit outstanding performance when combined with polystyrene and other polymers, making them suitable for a wide range of applications including home appliances, business and IT equipment, and automotive components.
  • May be designed to replace stamped steel, die cast metal, and brass in functional assemblies. Compatible with multiple filler technologies to further tailor desired properties.
  • These resins demonstrate high stiffness, tensile strength, and flexural strength, maintaining their performance even at elevated temperatures. They exhibit a gradual reduction in modulus as the temperature increases, providing a significant advantage.
  • Excellent hydrolytic stability, with water absorption rates among the lowest of any engineering thermoplastic.
  • Available in non-halogen based fire-retardant grades, helping products comply with a broad range of environmental standards, including UL94 V-0.
  • Product Processing

    PPO is best processed using extrusion or injection molding. Once processed, it can be hot-stamped, metalized, painted, or printed. When processing PPO, it’s best to use water-soluble coolants, like spray mists. Not only will using a water-soluble coolant reduce wear on your tools, but it will also facilitate the highest quality surface finishes for your products.
